Work is set to start in Tideford on the A38 on 2nd November 2026 to install a Puffin (signalised) crossing for pedestrians. This will enable residents to cross the road safely and has been a key campaign goal for the last 9 years. We want to thank Cllr Kate Ewert for her commitment to getting this funded and delivered. Please allow extra time for your journey during the roadworks.
Safe38 understands that the crossing carries the potential to increase congestion on the approaches to Tideford at peak times. We will continue to campaign for a relief road for Tideford that will see the majority of the 23k daily vehicles removed altogether.
